Cookie -Cookie JarsWe have a tradition just before Christmas each year. As many of the grandchildren as possible come to the house and we bake cookies, gingerbread houses, cookie jars and etc. Whatever they want to do as a special Christmas project. These cookie jars are Dan's girls projects from November of 99.
In the past we have built a village from the graham cracker houses, made gingerbread houses, just made assorted kinds of cookies so who know what they will decide that they want their next project to be.
Joanne Misner of CO shared these cookie-cookie jars with me many years ago. They are fun to make and when the jars run out of cookies then the jar can be eaten also.

We made two patterns for Kelsey's (age 9) cookie jar. One side pattern and the other pattern for the top and bottom pieces for her hexagon shaped cookie jar. Of course we have to bake enough cookies to fill the jars as well as to decorate the outside of the cookie jars
Brooke (age 12) decided to do the stacked ring cookie jar. We used two large container plastic lids for the cutters for the rings. And then cut two solid rings with the large circle for the top and the bottom pieces. Candies were also used to assist with the decorating of the outsides of the cookie jars.
