Baby Cakes for Baby Shower Ideas
Occasionally I receive orders for very special baby shower cakes.

I have done several versions of these special baby cakes. I hope you enjoy these pictures

NOW AVAILABLE - These darling little face molds are now available for you to purchase.

A close up picture of these special flowers so you can really see just how they are made. The faces are made with a mold. When you mold these faces leave a small projection on the back of the face to insert a toothpick into the gumpaste. Dampen the end of the toothpick and gently twist the toothpick as you insert it into the gumpaste on the back. Let these little faces dry completely before finishing the details with a very fine paint brush and food colors or you can even use the fine pencils for the faces. Just remember they must be nontoxic. Take a narrow strip of gumpaste and roll it out thin and clip with fine scissors or cut it with an exacto knife and glue on to the back of the little faces for that tiny little fringed look . The five petal quickie rose cutters are used to make the flowers. But you could easily use other flowers such as daisies to surround these cute little faces.

This special cake was made for a proud expectant Dad. He was a teacher and the other teachers at the school gave him a baby shower before the baby arrived.

This cake was done for our #4 grandchild Morgan's doctor. My daughter had a difficult pregnancy and she wanted to say a special thank you to her doctor and his staff.

I hope you can see some of the detail on this version. The two babies - one sleeping under the pink blanket and the other playing with the ball on the blue and white rug are gumpaste. The lettering on the sides of the cake was done with the flow in technique (color-flow) in royal icing. All of the flowers and leaves on this two tiered square cake as well as the other cakes were done in gumpaste.

$12.00 per serving

This cake was done for an appreciation banquet honoring nursery workers in a local church.
